At Cholsey Pre-School we believe in the all round well-being of our Children. We offer lots of outside play and P.E sessions to keep our bodies moving and healthy.
We also practice Mindfulness and Relaxation to help keep our minds calm.
How to play…
Mark out a start line. Take it in turns as Destiny and jump as far as you can off the start line, and mark where you land.
Now try again, but with a 2-step run up.
Now it’s time to really jump as far as you can with a big run-up.
Who can jump the furthest? Keep going to see how far you can go!
At the Zootropolis Police Academy, Judy has to prove she’s got what it takes. Have you got the skills to pass this training test?
Stand to attention and start by doing 10 star jumps.
Now do 5 hops on your right leg, then 5 on your left.
Finish by running on the spot for 10 seconds and then salute.
Repeat this again as fast as Judy would for 10 minutes, or make up your own moves.
Get warmed up by raising your arms and stretching up to the sky for a count of 10, then touch your toes for a count of 10. Repeat 3 times.
Now make the Butterfly pose by sitting and placing the soles of your feet against one another. Hold your feet for a count of 10. Repeat 3 times.
Next is the Camel pose! Kneel down, stretch your arms up over your head and reach back to your toes. Hold it for 10. Repeat 3 times.
Dolphin pose is next – from standing, bend over and rest your elbows on the ground, keeping your legs straight. Tuck your head in and hold for 10. Repeat 3 times.
Finally, it’s the Tortoise pose. Sit in a kneeling position, fold your body over and on to the floor, arms stretched out over your head. Hold for 30 seconds. Now repeat the circuit for 10 minutes.
This week we are doing………
Nala and Simba are reunited in the jungle. Can you move to your own jungle beat?
How to play…
Start playing some music or put the radio on.
Take 2 sideways steps right and tap the toes of your left foot on the ground in time with the music. Then do the same to the left.
Now add some arm moves! As you step each way, wave your arms side to side above your head!
Finally, after your 2 steps in each direction, do a special dance move. Try a star jump, dabbing, flossing or swivelling your hips like you have a hula hoop. It can be anything – make the most of your agility!
See if you can keep dancing for 10 minutes.
